Getting Ready for Summer!!

Summer is almost here and we can't wait. Sayla spends a large part of her day outside and one would think she'd be sleeping great. The poor girl just can't seem to turn off, we may have to start bedtime at 6:30. You think I'm joking.

So we have the garden in, the grill ready and not a whole lot going on. We do plan to spend more time at the pool this summer, Anders permitting. So with our parade faces on, here's to a great summer.

Big Boy!

Anders is almost 9 months old!! He pulled himself up to standing today and of course I was working and I missed it. I knew it would be soon and he probably won't do it again for another month. It seems like that's how it usually works doesn't it. Hopefully I'll get a picture soon.

Sayla Graduates!

Sayla "graduated" this last Wednesday. Which means she'll be in the four class next year! She doesn't want to be in fours though, she feels she is ready for the first grade. Oh Sayla!

Celebrating with some of the girls!

Receiving her award for being the cutest and the smartest.....or maybe I'll just give her that award.

Singing her song, or maybe waving? Whichever, she was really into it!
On a side note, Sayla is in bed right now (which means our bed) insisting on sleeping in her swimsuit. If it's anything like last summer, every picture I post for the next 3 to 4 months, she will most likely be wearing a swimsuit. I've warned you.
Anders is as sweet as ever. Really trying to pull himself to his feet. He can make it to his knees and then gets a little stuck. His "crawling" is a little odd. He goes backward or moves around on his butt like a monkey. He is really a good baby, and I'm not just saying that because I'm his mom.

2nd Annual Kite Flying Extravaganza!

Here is Sayla, practicing her "tee ball" while we get the kite ready!

Anders, pumped up and bundled for the kite!

So, you can't even see the kite!

Kite flying day was fun, but lasted about ten to 15 minutes before the fence got us! It was sooo windy out and pretty cold. Sayla convinced us it wasn't and it was the perfect day to fly a kite, so we listened like good parents do. The crazy thing is, I think she remembers last year's kite flying fiasco. She said, "Remember I had a Dora kite", and "Remember when daddy fighted with me." Which is kind of true, we'll call it a misunderstanding. One thing we've realized though, Kite Day is very important to Sayla!

Crazy May

So May has been really busy for us so far. May Day, we made May baskets and delivered them to Aidan and Owen down the street. Sayla was soooooo excited. We also had a good time having the two boys come over and hang out at our house. Don't tell their mom but I fed them a lot of sugar before they went home, they like me and that's all that matters.

Then last Tuesday I packed up the kids and headed to Minnesota for the week. I was able to get together with so many friends and was finally able to get together with my friend Laura! She has a little boy Abe who is 3 months older than Sayla. Laura and I laughed about nothing and had a really good time.

I also did 3 jewelry parties, one with my old bff. We were able to get together after the party with 3 other bff's of ours. I could hardly talk on Saturday night because of all the laughing. It felt good and my ab's look amazing.

And the trip wouldn't be complete without some time with January, Maya and Easton. My current bff/cousin-in-law (if there is such a thing). The girls love playing together and I of course forgot my camera.

We then headed up to Mankato to see the Hulke family (my sister). She bought a new home and it was fun to hang out and eat the lovely roast she made. Thanks Heather! Sayla and Riley are 3 years apart but that doesn't seem to bother either of them. They played outside in the rain and after coming in to dry off, Sayla wore Riley's pj's.....for 24 hrs. No kidding, she wouldn't take them off.

On top of all this visiting, I've had 5 jewelry parties so far this month, two assignments due, and a work schedule to keep straight. This week doesn't look to be slowing down either!! Here are some pictures of our adventure.

Happy May Day!

For Keegan!

My nephew Keegan just turned 1 in April. He is the smiliest baby and a crazy dancer. Give that kid a beat and he just can't help but move. Today when Sayla was at school (rainbow day today!) Anders and I rocked out to Keegan's favorite song!

What You Will Find Here

This is a blog about me and my life. I write about the everything, and the nothing that consumes a stay-at-home mom of two. My monster is my one year old little boy, and his sister is my four year old daughter. You should know that I am not a writer, I'm not a speller, but I think I'm funny. I really get a kick out of myself sometimes. The truth is....I'm funnier in my head. So often, this blog is a bad attempt at humor and sarcasm, but mostly it's about the mundane, wonderful, boring, exciting, crabby, happy days we have together.
