Election Day Party!

Election Day!!! Always an important day, but the past several years has been a little bittersweet for me. I think of our time as a family knocking on doors, handing out fliers and the anxiety of election day. It's a day I will always miss my dad and all the passion and drive he had for doing what he believed in. I hope to instill in my own kids the same values he instilled in me. That we all have an important role as citizens of our community, state, country. I want them to pay attention, get involved, have an opinion but most of all, always wear matching outfits on election day!! All joking aside, yesterday I felt proud to cast my vote! Yesterday I felt my dad was proud too!

A cheerleader and her giraffe!

Sayla was a cheerleader and Anders a giraffe! What a long day! Sayla had a Halloween party at preschool, and I watched her do a cheer for her class and all the parents. I laughed so hard I cried.

Then that afternoon we went trick or treating downtown Cedar Falls. That was not such a fun experience for me. Local businesses were handing out candy, and oh my word was it packed. Forty five minutes and four blocks later, Sayla had 5 pieces of candy 2 pencils and a breath mint. She loved it!

And you think the day is done....oh no. We came home and Sayla handed out candy for awhile, but then it was her turn to do some more trick or treating. So I took her for about an hour. When Jeremy came home it was another forty-five minutes.

THEN.....we went to a Halloween party at some friends. Sayla loved that because her friend Adian was there. One would think that this day would have to end with some sort of melt down, but there was none! Sayla loves Halloween almost as much as her Birthday!

What You Will Find Here

This is a blog about me and my life. I write about the everything, and the nothing that consumes a stay-at-home mom of two. My monster is my one year old little boy, and his sister is my four year old daughter. You should know that I am not a writer, I'm not a speller, but I think I'm funny. I really get a kick out of myself sometimes. The truth is....I'm funnier in my head. So often, this blog is a bad attempt at humor and sarcasm, but mostly it's about the mundane, wonderful, boring, exciting, crabby, happy days we have together.
